Dr. Tao is Director of Pathways’ herbal department. Dr. Tao received a Masters in Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) in 1999 and received a Certificate of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Basic Theory and Chinese Herbal Medicine in 1980. He has been a Clinical Supervisor at the New England School of Acupuncture and instructor in Chinese Herbal Medicine Review.

From 1986 to 1990 Dr. Tao worked as a Physician in Internal Medicine at the Jin Ling Hospital in Shanghai. From 1975-1986 he was a Physician's Assistant in the Internal Medical Department at the Guling Hospital of Shanghai.

Since 1993 he has been a surgical assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital and from 1990-1992 he was a research assistant at the Boston Biomedical Research Institute.

Dr. Tao specializes in Internal Medicine, Gynecology, and Orthopedics. He is fluent in both Chinese Mandarin and Shanghainese.
